Afrobeats star Davido has finally addressed the viral incident involving streamer Davrel, who recently apologised after being criticised for sitting on a chair reportedly meant for the singer.

The moment happened during the burial of Israel DMW’s father, where a video captured Davrel occupying the seat while Davido stood nearby. Shortly after, someone from the singer’s camp approached the streamer and asked him to leave the chair, which he did without protest before Davido sat down.

The video spread quickly online, triggering mixed reactions. Many fans, especially supporters of Davido’s 30BG movement, accused Davrel of acting disrespectfully and criticised his behaviour.

As criticism mounted, the streamer shared an emotional video in which he repeatedly begged Davido and Nigerians to forgive him.

“Please forgive me. Please, please, please… Have mercy. I swear I am sorry. Please have mercy. I am begging you. Yes, I am a fool. Have mercy. I am sorry. I will not be a fool again. Yes, I am an idiot. Please, I will not be an idiot again. I swear I am sorry,” he said.

Davido has now put the matter to rest by responding to the apology. In his message, the singer wrote, “Good job son .. move better n be smarter the world is watching u now love u ❤️.”

His response has been widely shared online, with many people praising him for showing understanding and offering advice instead of extending the controversy.
