South African rapper Nasty C has praised Nigerian music star Davido for supporting him early in his career, revealing that the Afrobeats singer contributed to the success of his hit “Juice Back” remix without asking for payment.
Speaking in a recent interview, Nasty C disclosed that Davido not only recorded a verse for the song free of charge but also covered the full cost of the music video after learning he could not afford to shoot it.
“Davido gave me a free verse for the remix of ‘Juice Back.’ When I told him I couldn’t afford to shoot the music video, he simply said, ‘Don’t worry,’ and went on to pay for the entire video,” he said.
Released in 2015, the “Juice Back” remix featured Davido and fellow South African rapper Cassper Nyovest. The track went on to become one of the songs that helped introduce Nasty C to a wider audience across Africa.
The revelation has since sparked reactions from fans, with many applauding Davido for supporting fellow African artists at a crucial stage in their careers.
Davido might have covered the music video for "Juice Back Remix" but Nasty C had to come back with his verse and revive the track smh.pic.twitter.com/rb96obRtVX
