Social media critic VeryDarkMan has reacted to the arrest of content creator DJ Chicken, saying he understands why the authorities took action, even though he does not believe the entertainer was capable of carrying out the threat he made.

According to VDM, the government could not ignore such a statement because allowing it to go unpunished could encourage others to make even more serious threats in the future.

He said, “What does the government want to use Dj chicken to do, you go waste time say na Dj chicken you wan arrest, i understand the government because if you give Dj chicken a free pass someone will say worse tomorrow saying you will Unalive the president son is a criminal offense, it’s clear he did it for attention, he can’t hurt anybody, just mouth.”

VDM maintained that threatening the President’s son is an offence that security agencies have to treat seriously, regardless of who makes the statement. While he admitted DJ Chicken crossed the line, he insisted the content creator was merely seeking attention and had no intention of carrying out the threat.

He added that the law must be enforced in such situations to deter others from making similar remarks, describing DJ Chicken as someone who is “just mouth” and not a person he believes would actually harm anyone.

DJ Chicken was arrested after a video surfaced online in which he allegedly threatened Seyi Tinubu, saying he would kill the President’s son if President Bola Tinubu won the election. Although the video was later deleted, it attracted the attention of security authorities and reportedly led to his arrest in Lagos.
