The nephew of late country music icon Dolly Parton, Bryan Seaver, has reportedly been removed from his longtime position overseeing security at properties belonging to the singer.

According to TMZ, Seaver and his security company, SAPS, received a notice on September 16 informing them that their services were no longer required. His team was reportedly instructed to leave Parton’s properties immediately.

The properties said to be affected include Parton’s primary residence in Nashville, her museum and a warehouse. A new security company has reportedly since taken over the responsibilities.

Seaver was reportedly informed that his removal from providing security services did not affect his personal interest in Parton’s estate.

A representative of SAPS told the outlet that the company was “dismayed by the unexpected and, so far, unexplained actions” taken by the executors of Parton’s estate following her death.

“We remain unshakably resolved to fulfil her final directive to protect her family, and we refuse to be intimidated by those whose actions we believe are being taken in bad faith and with the intent to profit from the life of someone who willingly gave so much,” the company spokesperson added.

Seaver, the son of Parton’s sister Cassie, had served as her head of security for more than two decades. His father, Larry, reportedly held the position before him.

Following Parton’s death at the age of 80 on August 25, Seaver was entrusted with announcing the news to the public through a video shared on Parton’s official Instagram account.

Reflecting on his longtime role in his aunt’s security, Seaver said:

“As her head of security for more than two decades, a role my father Larry held before me, I have imagined the heaviness of this moment but haven’t truly felt it until now,” Seaver shared in a video message posted on Parton’s official Instagram account at the time.

“It is an honour, an honour that is mixed with absolute pride and great sadness. But sadness lies with us, not with Dolly. Dolly has lived in the light and is in the arms of Jesus.”

The reported change in security arrangements comes as the administration of Parton’s estate continues following her death. The circumstances surrounding Seaver’s removal have not been publicly explained by the estate’s executors.
