Yusuf Tuggar has officially joined the race for the 2027 Bauchi State governorship election, declaring his intention to contest under the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He made the announcement on Saturday during a rally in Bauchi attended by party supporters, where he outlined his vision for the state and called for unity within the party ahead of the primaries.

“I’m standing forward not for power but for service and progress.

“I’m coming forward to build on the legacies of our good leaders and move the state forward,” he said.

Tuggar disclosed that he has developed a comprehensive 10-point agenda designed to drive long-term development in the state. His plans focus on key sectors including economic diversification, agriculture, livestock development, education, healthcare, and empowerment for women and youths.

He also highlighted digital innovation, entrepreneurship, clean energy initiatives, infrastructure and rural development, anti-corruption measures, and improved welfare for workers as part of his priorities.

The former minister added that if elected, his administration would promote inclusive governance by involving young people in decision-making and strengthening community-based security strategies through collaboration with security agencies, traditional leaders, and religious institutions.

Tuggar urged APC stakeholders to support his aspiration as he seeks to secure the party’s ticket for the governorship election.
