Football icon Kevin Keegan has died at the age of 75 following a battle with stage four stomach cancer.
His diagnosis was announced in January, with reports confirming he had been receiving treatment for the advanced illness. Keegan passed away on Monday.
England’s national team will pay tribute to the former Three Lions manager before their UEFA Nations League fixture against Spain in September.
Keegan enjoyed a remarkable football career, making more than 750 appearances for Scunthorpe United, Liverpool, Hamburg and Newcastle United.
His achievements included three English First Division titles with Liverpool and consecutive Ballon d’Or triumphs in 1978 and 1979 while playing for Hamburg.
He also represented England 63 times between 1972 and 1982, scoring 21 goals and leaving behind a lasting legacy as one of the country’s greatest footballers.
