Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara is expected to present the 2026 Appropriation Bill to the State House of Assembly today.
The presentation comes after the governor last week submitted the 2026–2028 Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF), which was approved by lawmakers within 24 hours, clearing the way for the 2026 budget proposal.
Fubara is expected to appear before members of the Assembly at the Assembly Quarters Auditorium, where lawmakers have been holding plenary since the legislative chamber was damaged during the political crisis that rocked the state about three years ago.
The governor is expected to unveil the much-anticipated 2026 budget, which has generated widespread public interest and debate.
