The former wife of Nollywood actor Akin Olaiya has spoken publicly about the end of their marriage, revealing what she described as the circumstances that forced her to leave the relationship.
Her remarks come shortly after the actor confirmed that their marriage had ended.
Sharing her side of the story, she alleged that she decided to walk away only a few months after their wedding when she discovered that Olaiya was romantically involved with one of her close friends, who had served as a bridesmaid during their wedding ceremony.
She further claimed that the actor has since married the same woman.
Explaining her decision, she said:
“I left my marriage 3 months ago because I was in pa!n and there was v!olence I felt invisible. For my life, I had to go.
“We’ve been separated since last year. Nobody abandons a happy home. When your peace is gone, you choose yourself.
“He’s older than me, but age wasn’t the issue.
“I won’t expose our private story online. Allah knows all. But women don’t just walk away for nothing.
“After all I suffered.. he married my best friend.”
She went on to allege that the relationship between her husband and her friend was the major reason behind the collapse of the marriage.
“I left my husband because he started having an affair with my best friend who was a bridesmaid at my wedding. He was much older than me but I still married him and he betrayed me,” she stated.
