Media personality Dele Momodu has expressed concern over Nigeria’s worsening economic and security situation, saying the level of hardship facing citizens is unprecedented in his lifetime.

Speaking on the state of the nation, Momodu said he now feels anxious whenever he checks messages on his phone because many people are reaching out to seek financial help.

According to him:

“The economy of Nigeria is so bad that these days I get too scared to even open some messages on my phone because everyone is begging. People are suffering so much and also insecurity has never been this bad before in Nigeria.

“I’m 66 going to 67years so, I’m old enough to know and understand the challenges we have encountered in Nigeria before now and nothing can equal this present administration. And I’m not seeing any sign of remorse or atonement, it has always been we are we will do something about it yet nothing is yet to be done.”

Reflecting on his decades of experience, Momodu said Nigeria has faced several difficult moments in the past, but maintained that the current economic hardship and insecurity are unlike anything he has witnessed before.

He also expressed disappointment that, despite repeated assurances from the government, he believes there has been little improvement in addressing the country’s challenges.
