Former Big Brother Naija housemate Erica Nlewedim has disclosed that the backlash she faced after leaving the reality show had a lasting emotional impact on her.

Erica made the revelation during an interview with Toke Makinwa, where she ruled out the possibility of ever taking part in a programme like BBNaija again.

Although she acknowledged that participating in the show transformed her finances and opened new opportunities for her, Erica said the experience also came with years of harsh criticism and insults.

She explained that the constant negativity lasted for about three years and eventually became overwhelming enough for her to seek help from a therapist.

“I’ll never go to a show like Big Brother Naija again in my life. I’m happy I did it because, of course, it changed my life money-wise, but I’m never doing it again if I’m given the opportunity. I was getting like 3 years of back-to-back insults. I had to see a therapist because of that show,” she said.

Erica stressed that despite appreciating the financial benefits of her BBNaija appearance, the emotional consequences of the experience have made her certain she would not repeat it.
