Nigerian media personality Moet Abebe has revealed that she interviewed almost every major Nigerian music act during what she describes as a golden and defining era for the industry.
Speaking in a recent interview, she said her active years between 2010 and 2020 placed her at the centre of the entertainment scene, where she regularly engaged top artists during their rise to fame.
According to her, very few prominent musicians from that period escaped her interview chair.
“There is no artiste in Nigeria that I have not interviewed, apart from maybe in recent times. But those people from 2010 to 2020, there is no single artiste. If you have not been interviewed by Moet Abebe and you were reigning between 2010 and 2020, my dear, you were not doing well enough. That is what I am going to say because I have interviewed everybody, at least everybody that matters,” she said.
She explained that the 2010 to 2020 decade marked a major growth phase for Afrobeats, as Nigerian music gained stronger global recognition and media platforms became key drivers of artist exposure and promotion.
Moet Abebe added that her interview portfolio from that era reflects her involvement with most of the key figures who shaped the industry’s expansion during those years.
