Ilebaye’s father, Emmanuel Odiniya, has broken his silence following the controversy surrounding the alleged physical altercation between him and the reality TV star.
In a viral voice note making rounds online, Odiniya shared his side of the story after Ilebaye accused him of assault during an emotional Instagram Live session that led to police intervention.
The businessman claimed he was one of the major forces behind Ilebaye’s victory during her time on Big Brother Naija, revealing that he mobilised support and funding from influential individuals across Kogi State to help keep her in the competition.
“When she told me she wanted to go for BBNaija, I supported her massively. Even governors and my colleagues contributed money for her votes,” he said.
According to him, their relationship became strained after she emerged winner of the show, alleging that she stopped taking advice from him and began living recklessly.
He accused the reality star of ignoring family guidance, spending extravagantly, and associating with people he did not approve of. Odiniya also criticised her alleged cosmetic procedures, claiming they changed her attitude and behaviour.
Speaking on the incident that sparked the controversy, he alleged that he was trying to caution her when she became aggressive.
“She insulted me and later hit me with an AC hanger. She also broke a lantern on my head and I was covered in blood,” he claimed.
Odiniya further made several accusations involving family disputes, his failed marriage, and issues concerning Ilebaye’s younger sibling.
He also alleged that despite her lavish public lifestyle, she once refused to lend him money for a medical trip to Dubai.
The drama began after Ilebaye appeared online in tears, accusing her father of physically attacking and detaining her at home. The situation reportedly led to his arrest by officers of the Federal Capital Territory Police Command.
Police authorities confirmed that investigations into the incident are still ongoing.
