President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his intention to run for a second term, stating that ongoing insecurity challenges in parts of the country will not prevent him from continuing in office.

He made the declaration while hosting Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang and other leaders from Plateau State at the Presidential Villa.

Speaking during the meeting, Tinubu said efforts by some critics to link rising insecurity to his administration were being used by political opponents to advance their agenda.

He maintained that he remains undeterred by such narratives, describing himself as a determined politician who will not be pushed aside by pressure.

“I’m a very stubborn politician. I just refuse to go. And I will campaign for my second term,” he said.

“You are playing to the hand of agents, including my own enemies, who want to use insecurity to get rid of me.”

The statement comes amid increasing security concerns in parts of Northern Nigeria, especially the North-Central zone, where Plateau State has continued to experience attacks and unrest.
