The father of Alex Iwobi has dismissed circulating reports alleging the Fulham midfielder was attacked during a burglary, describing the claims as completely false.

The clarification was shared by former Super Eagles media officer Colin Udoh, who revealed that he spoke directly with Iwobi’s father, Chuka Iwobi.

“I have just spoken to Chuka Iwobi, and he says there is absolutely no truth to reports that his son @alexiwobi was burgled,” Udoh stated.

Quoting him further, he added: “Alex is fine and there was absolutely no attempt to burgle his house. He left for Turkey this morning in preparation for the friendlies. It’s so annoying that a person can actually spread such falsehood just for a few clicks. I’ve been inundated by calls and enquiries from well wishers and have spent unnecessary time explaining that this is a made up story.”

The statement comes after earlier reports claimed the Nigerian international was held at knifepoint during a raid at his residence, with valuables such as watches, jewellery, phones, a laptop, and large sums of cash allegedly stolen. Some accounts even estimated the total value of the supposed items at around £500,000.

However, the latest response from his family has firmly debunked the reports, confirming that no such incident occurred.
