Olajide Adediran has pulled out of the 2027 governorship contest in Lagos State, stepping aside after fresh political developments within the ruling camp.

The politician, widely known as Jandor, made his decision public on Thursday while speaking to journalists, leaders of the Lagos4Lagos Movement, and his supporters at Liberty House in Adeniyi Jones, Ikeja.

His exit comes shortly after Bola Tinubu threw his weight behind the current Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hamzat.

“Within hours after I purchased my nomination forms, there were developments, including a meeting involving the President and the Deputy Governor.”

Jandor said it soon became evident that Hamzat had secured the President’s endorsement, a move that reshaped the political landscape.

“Based on my earlier position that I will align with the direction of the President, I have decided to withdraw from the race.”
