Former President Goodluck Jonathan and former Anambra State governor Peter Obi met privately on Monday as Obi continues consultations ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Clips and photos from the meeting were shared on X by the ADC Vanguard, which described the talks as high-level engagements.

According to the group, the discussions centred on the possibility of opposition parties uniting behind a single presidential candidate.

“Goodluck Jonathan and Peter Obi are having high-level discussions about presenting one presidential candidate for the opposition parties,” the post read.

The meeting comes as Obi intensifies political outreach nationwide, amid growing speculation about a potential alliance with former Kano State governor Rabiu Kwankwaso, with both figures linked to the African Democratic Congress.
