Manchester City staged a stunning late comeback to secure a 2-1 victory over Southampton and book a place in their fourth straight FA Cup final.
The semi-final had been largely uneventful until Finn Azaz lit up the contest, curling in a brilliant strike with just 11 minutes left to hand the Championship side a surprise lead at Wembley.
However, City responded almost instantly. Substitute Jeremy Doku brought them level with a deflected effort, swinging the momentum back in their favour. Moments later, Nico Gonzalez sealed the turnaround with a thunderous strike in the 87th minute.
Southampton briefly dared to dream of recreating their famous 1976 FA Cup triumph and marking its 50th anniversary with another final appearance, but City’s pursuit of more silverware proved unstoppable.
Having already lifted the Carabao Cup at Wembley last month, Pep Guardiola’s side will return to the stadium in May, where they will face either Leeds United or Chelsea in the final.
