Inter Miami captain Lionel Messi has reached a landmark 900 career goals.
He marked the milestone by scoring in Wednesday’s 1-1 draw with Nashville SC in the CONCACAF Champions Cup second leg.
The Argentine World Cup winner is now only the second male footballer in history to reach 900 goals, joining Cristiano Ronaldo.
Messi opened the scoring within 10 minutes, cutting inside and firing across goal to put Miami ahead, but Cristian Espinoza equalized, and Miami was eliminated from the competition.
It took Messi 1,142 games to reach 900 goals, compared to Ronaldo’s 1,236 matches. Brazilian legend Pele ranks third with 765 career goals.
Messi’s tally includes 672 goals for Barcelona, 32 for Paris Saint-Germain, 81 for Inter Miami, and 115 for Argentina.
