Nigerian rapper Illbliss has opened up about his emotional journey to becoming a father, revealing that he and his wife spent eight years waiting before welcoming their first child.
In a recent interview, the rapper said the pregnancy came as a surprise during a hospital visit, where his wife had initially gone in for treatment over what they thought was malaria.
He explained that the results of the medical check revealed something completely unexpected.
“The doctor said everything was fine, but my wife was pregnant. My wife broke down and I broke down as well. The doctor thought we didn’t want the baby, but he had no clue how long we had waited for that child,” he said.
Illbliss also recounted the birth of their second daughter, describing it as another miracle in his family’s story.
According to him, the baby was delivered prematurely during the COVID-19 pandemic, and doctors allegedly advised them to terminate the pregnancy, saying the child was unlikely to survive.
“Doctors told us to flush and get rid of her because she wouldn’t make it, but we refused. We’re staunch Catholics. We believed God would come through, and God did come through,” he added.
