Nikita Bier has announced that he is stepping down as Head of Product at X after serving in the role for just over a year.

Bier shared the news in a post on Wednesday, saying he would no longer oversee the platform’s day-to-day product operations but would remain involved with the company as an advisor. He described the decision as a chance to “pass the torch” and return to what he called his “natural state” as a regular poster on the platform.

Reflecting on his tenure, Bier said leading X had been “the privilege of a lifetime,” noting that the role demanded round-the-clock commitment.

He narrated major changes made during his time as product chief, including overhauls to the timeline, Android app, onboarding process, notifications and chat, as well as the launch of nearly 30 new products.

Bier joined X in July 2025 as Head of Product after previously founding the social apps tbh and Gas. His departure comes as X continues to undergo leadership changes under owner Elon Musk.
