The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has clarified that passport application and processing services are continuing without interruption nationwide, despite concerns over the migration of more passport branches to the Central Personalization Centre.
In a statement posted on its official X account on Wednesday, the agency explained that the move is part of an administrative upgrade designed to improve passport production and enhance the security of Nigeria’s travel documents.
The NIS stressed that the migration does not mean passport services have been suspended.
“The Nigeria Immigration Service wants to clarify that the recent migration of additional passport branches to the Central Personalization Centre is a strategic administrative enhancement, rather than a suspension of services,” the statement read.
The service also assured Nigerians that passport enrolment and biometric data capture are still being carried out at passport offices across the country.
“Applicants can still visit their local centers to complete biometric data capture seamlessly,” it stated.
