Nollywood actor Ikechukwu Nweke has appealed to the public for financial assistance after revealing that he is currently battling colon cancer.
The actor made the disclosure in a video posted on his Instagram page titled My Cancer Journey, where he shared that he was diagnosed with the disease in 2025.
Nweke disclosed that he has already spent more than ₦15 million on chemotherapy, radiotherapy, medications, scans, and other medical procedures in his fight against the illness.
He thanked his family and several colleagues in the movie industry for supporting him throughout the journey, mentioning Uche Nancy, Destiny Etiko, Lizzy Gold, Ebele Okaro, among others.
The actor said his treatment is still ongoing and that doctors have advised him to continue with another phase of care, but the rising medical expenses have become too much for him to bear.
He appealed to Nigerians to support him financially, stressing that every donation, prayer, and act of kindness would help him continue his fight against cancer.
Speaking in the video, he said:
“Good morning, good afternoon and good evening from wherever you are watching me from, I was diagnosed with colon cancer last year. I have been trying so hard to manage it privately. I have spent a lot of money and my family members have contributed a whole lot. People close to me like Destiny Etiko, Uche Nancy, Lizzy Gold, Ebele Okaro, among others have also been supportive.
“Unfortunately, my battle is not over yet. My doctors have advised that I must continue with the next phase of my treatment to give me the best chance of a full recovery. I cannot afford to stop or skip this stage, but the financial burden has become overwhelming.
“Today, I’m humbly asking for your help. No amount is too small. Your support, your prayers, and even sharing this video can make a real difference in my fight for life.”
