Veteran Nollywood actress Bukky Wright has reflected on her long-standing relationship with actress Toyin Abraham, revealing that she played a role in helping the award-winning filmmaker begin her journey in the movie industry.
Speaking about their first meeting, Bukky Wright recalled being drawn to Toyin because of her humble and timid personality, which motivated her to support the young actress at the time.
“The very first day l met Toyin Abraham she looks so timid and Naive which made me to like her and l thank God that l helped her then,” she said.
The actress expressed delight at Toyin’s success, noting that one thing she appreciates most is that Toyin has never failed to acknowledge her support and contribution to her career.
“Toyin is really making me proud and she has never denied the fact that l was the person that brought her into the movie industry and l am part of her success story today.”
Bukky Wright added that she had also helped several other actors break into Nollywood over the years, but said many of them no longer acknowledge the assistance they received.
Despite that, she said she harbours no ill feelings, stressing that she remains grateful for the opportunity to have positively impacted others.
“I have so many people that came into the industry through me that Don’t even acknowledge all l did for them then. Out of all the people I brought to the industry, only Toyin credits me.”
