Organisers of the 2026 Tojemarine Invitational International Handball Championship have officially released the groupings for the competition, with teams now knowing their opponents ahead of the tournament scheduled to hold from July 15 to July 24, 2026 in Lagos, Nigeria.
The draws, released on Wednesday, saw host and 2024 Nigeria Premier Handball League champion, Tojemarine Handball Club drawn in Group A of the men’s category alongside Energie Handball Club of Cotonou Benin Republic, Ghana Police Handball Club of Accra, Delta Force Handball Club of Asaba and Rima Strikers HC of Sokoto.
Group B comprises top Benin Republic teams based in Cotonou Adidja Handball Club and ASPAC Club, Kalibi HC of Accra, Former champion of Nigeria Handball Premier League Niger United Handball Club of Minna, and De Defenders Handball Club of the Nigeria Civil Defence based in Abuja, Nigeria.
In the women’s category, Group A features Soof Handball Club of Benin City, Edo State; Ghana Prisons Handball Club of Accra; ASPAC Handball Club of Cotonou, Benin Republic and Former Nigeria Premier Handball League champion, Plateau Peacocks Handball Club of Jos.
Group B consists of Flowers Handball Club of Cotonou, Benin Republic; Rima Queens Handball Club of Sokoto, Seasiders Babes Handball Club of Lagos and Ghana Police Handball Club of Accra.
The championship is expected to attract some of the leading club sides from Nigeria, Ghana, and Benin Republic, providing a platform for top-level competition and fostering stronger sporting ties across the West African region.
The tournament remains committed to developing handball while promoting excellence and community engagement through sport.
