Nollywood actor Patrick Doyle is grieving the heartbreaking loss of his newborn daughter, Omayinuwa, only a day after celebrating her arrival.
The veteran filmmaker had earlier announced with joy on Saturday that he and his wife, Olufunmilayo, had welcomed their first child together, sharing the news with fans and well-wishers.
However, the celebration quickly turned into sorrow when he later revealed that the baby passed away on Sunday, shortly after birth.
In an emotional post shared on Facebook, Doyle said Omayinuwa was born on Friday, April 10, at about 10:40 a.m., and died the following day, Saturday, April 11, at around 4:15 p.m. He described her brief life as one that brought happiness despite its tragic ending. The cause of death was not disclosed.
He expressed deep pain over the loss but also spoke from a place of faith, noting that they had wished for more time with their daughter but accepted what he described as God’s will.
Doyle added that his trust in God remains firm even in the face of the tragedy, saying his family draws strength from their belief during this difficult moment.
The actor was previously married to actress Ireti Doyle, with their marriage ending in 2023.
