Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso have officially aligned with the Nigeria Democratic Congress after completing their move to the opposition platform.

The duo were received into the party on Sunday at its national secretariat in Abuja, marking a fresh political chapter for both leaders.

Before the switch, Obi had confirmed his departure from the African Democratic Congress, while Kwankwaso revealed he had been engaged in extensive consultations with key figures within the NDC.

At the event, the party’s national chairman, Cleopas Moses Zuwoghe, formally handed over membership cards to the two politicians.

Addressing party members, Kwankwaso explained that their engagement with NDC stakeholders centered on aligning visions and principles. He noted that both camps discovered strong similarities in their ideologies, which influenced their decision to join forces.

He also called on Nigerians to enlist with the party ahead of the official deadline for membership registration.
