BBNaija winner Phyna has responded to online trolls dragging her over reports that she now works at a restaurant as a waitress.
The reality star questioned why people see honest work as shameful, especially after many began mocking her and claiming she had gone broke.
According to Phyna, life has changed despite the ₦100 million prize money and endorsement deals she enjoyed after leaving the BBNaija house.
“What is wrong if I am actually working as a sales girl or a waiter? Tell me what is wrong in it? Why the bashing?”
She explained that if she had been livestreaming or filming content inside the restaurant, many people would have praised her, but because she was allegedly seen genuinely working, the narrative quickly changed online.
Phyna also lamented that brand influencing jobs are no longer as steady as before, adding that even regular nine-to-five jobs may not be enough for someone constantly in the public eye.
The reality star further called out Nigerians for applauding people who travel abroad to work as cleaners, nannies or waiters while looking down on those doing the same jobs at home.
“So is it okay to work as a waiter and cleaner overseas but it’s bad to do that here in Nigeria?”
