Real Zaragoza goalkeeper Esteban Andrada is facing a potential long suspension after a shocking incident during his side’s 1-0 defeat to SD Huesca in a heated Segunda División derby in Spain.

The match ended in chaos deep into stoppage time after Huesca scored through Óscar Sielva, sealing a narrow win in a tense relegation battle. Tempers flared as frustration spilled over on the pitch.

Andrada was initially shown a second yellow card after pushing an opponent, leading to his dismissal. But the situation escalated further when the goalkeeper, after being sent off, ran back onto the pitch and punched Huesca captain Jorge Pulido in the face.

The incident immediately sparked a mass confrontation involving players from both sides, with tensions boiling over in the final moments of the game. The referee also issued additional red cards to Huesca goalkeeper Dani Jiménez and Zaragoza’s Dani Tasende as order broke down.

Both clubs later condemned the ugly scenes. Real Zaragoza described the behaviour as unacceptable and “unbecoming of the sport,” adding that internal disciplinary action would be taken against those involved.

Andrada, 35, later issued an apology, admitting he lost control in the heat of the moment. He expressed regret over the incident, saying it was a poor reflection on himself, the club, and the fans, and stated that he would accept any punishment handed down to him.
