The Nigerian Senate has confirmed Muttaqha Rabe Darma as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria following his screening on Thursday.
His nomination was submitted on Wednesday by President Bola Tinubu, who proposed him to replace the former Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Ahmed Musa Dangiwa.
During plenary, Senate President Godswill Akpabio read the President’s letter to lawmakers and directed that the nomination be considered by the Committee of the Whole, with a mandate to report back without delay.
Darma, who previously headed the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) as its Executive Secretary, is expected to assume his new role following the confirmation.
