Yoruba nation agitator Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has said he is awaiting approval from the Federal Government to begin operations against terrorists and other criminal elements in the South-West.
Igboho stated that his security outfit, Iru Ekun Security Network, is fully prepared to launch operations aimed at tackling kidnappers, bandits and other criminals hiding in forests across the region.
He also pledged to comply with the Executive Order recently introduced by the Oyo State Government regulating private security organisations operating within the state.
In a statement released on Monday, Igboho disclosed that all necessary documents and requirements for the approval of the Iru Ekun Security Network had already been submitted to the Federal Government.
He commended President Bola Tinubu for what he described as a strong commitment to improving Nigeria’s security system, especially in the South-West.
“We have submitted all the required documents for our registered security firm, Iru Ekun Security Network, and are only waiting for the Federal Government approval which will be granted soon.
“We are absolutely ready to collaborate with the police, Department of State Service, DSS, Nigeria Army, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, and other relevant stakeholders in the security sector to flush out terrorists, kidnappers, bandits, and other hoodlums threatening the peace and safety of our people, especially those in rural communities,” he said.
