Several members of Nigeria’s Super Falcons have reportedly been targeted by thieves while in camp in Morocco for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
The alleged thefts happened at the Marriott Hotel in Casablanca, where the team is staying for final preparations ahead of the tournament.
Reports say some players went back to their rooms to find money missing from their wallets.
Midfielder Esther Okoronkwo was said to have lost $700. Captain Rasheedat Ajibade reportedly had $200 taken, while defender Osinachi Ohale lost $100. Goalkeeper Joy Omewa allegedly lost $120, and Halimatu Ayinde $100.
Altogether, about $1,220 — roughly ₦1.7 million — is said to have gone missing.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has not yet issued a statement or confirmed if an investigation is underway.
The Falcons are currently in Casablanca training under head coach Justine Madugu. They will move to Rabat next for their Group C opener against Malawi. As defending champions, Nigeria will also take on Zambia and Egypt in the group stage.
