Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Tems has been confirmed as one of the performers at the opening ceremony of the Obama Presidential Center in Chicago, United States.

She is set to appear on stage alongside some of the world’s biggest music stars, including John Legend, Jennifer Hudson, Stevie Wonder, Bono, Bruce Springsteen, Christina Aguilera, Common, and Marc Anthony.

The ceremony, scheduled for June 18, will officially unveil the Obama Presidential Center and will be broadcast globally from the John Lewis Plaza. Tems is the only Nigerian artiste included in the lineup released by the Obama Foundation.

The foundation said the event will highlight themes of democracy, hope, service, and culture, while celebrating influential voices in music and entertainment from across the world.

Obama Foundation CEO Valerie Jarrett described the occasion as a unique celebration blending music and inspiration.

“This Grand Opening ceremony will be unlike any other, filled with music, performances, and hope,” she said.
