British-Nigerian rapper Skepta has appealed to the international community to pay more attention to the insecurity and injustice affecting Nigeria.

In a video making rounds online, the music star reflected on memories from the #EndSARS protests, saying the situation in the country still feels painful and unresolved years later.

Skepta explained that he always tries to use his platform, whether through music, visuals, or public appearances, to speak against injustice. He added that Nigerians have consistently shown support for people facing crises in different parts of the world, including Congo, Sudan, Gaza, Lebanon, Iran, and Cuba.

According to him, Nigerians also deserve global support and solidarity amid the challenges facing the country.

He noted that while Nigerians are known for being resilient and making difficult situations appear manageable, the country is still dealing with widespread injustice that should not be ignored.

He said:

“Morning, I just had the memory on my phone when we were at the EndSARS protest on ground and it just got me thinking man. I was like it still feels like there’s just so much injustice still in Nigeria.

“And whenever I can, whether it’s at my shows, verbally, imagery, whatever I can do, we’re going to speak up for injustice at all times. Nigerians, we’re like that as people. Whether that’s Congo, Sudan, Gaza, Lebanon, Iran, Cuba, we’re going to speak up.

“But please help us Nigerians, we need help too. We need people to speak up for us as well. We need to protect Nigeria. There’s so much injustice in Nigeria, we could go on all day.

“So this is my message to the people, that please, I know that we’re resilient and we make everything look good, but we need help too. So please help us, help Nigeria, speak up.”
