Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture and Creative Economy Hannatu Musawa has presented President Bola Tinubu with a hand-drawn portrait depicting him alongside his late mother.
Musawa disclosed this on Saturday in a post on X following a courtesy visit to the President after his return to Nigeria and the national premiere of the documentary on the late businessman and politician, MKO Abiola.
The minister said the visit provided an opportunity for her to present the portrait, which she personally drew as part of her hobby.
According to Musawa, although drawing is a personal pastime, the particular artwork carried a deeper emotional significance because of the inspiration behind it.
She explained that the portrait was inspired by the special bond between mothers and their children, as well as the support Tinubu offered her following the death of her own mother.
“I draw as a hobby, but this particular piece was deeply personal to me. It was inspired by the special place a mother holds in the life of a child and, more personally, by the support Mr President showed me during the difficult period following the loss of my own mother,” she said.
Musawa also expressed appreciation to Tinubu for what she described as his continued support and kindness towards her.
The presentation adds a personal moment to the minister’s recent engagement with the President, coming shortly after Tinubu’s return to Nigeria following his extended stay abroad.
