Toyin Abraham has addressed the backlash surrounding her habit of kneeling to greet people at public events, making it clear she has no plans to stop.

The actress defended her actions while responding to a fan on X who criticized the gesture, describing it as unnecessary and a form of eye service that could attract disrespect.

In her response, Abraham maintained that the act is a sign of respect she willingly gives to those she believes deserve it.

“I won’t stop kneeling to people who value and deserve it, my darling. I will continue to go on my both knees to greet people who value and deserve it no matter the status.”

The conversation began after a video surfaced from the 70th birthday celebration of Gbenga Daniel, where Abraham was seen kneeling to greet businesswoman Shade Okoya, her husband Rasaq Okoya, and other dignitaries present.

Reacting to the clip, the fan, Lady Victoria, argued that many of the individuals the actress knelt for were not significantly older than her, adding that the habit made her appear to diminish her own worth.
