Uriel Oputa has reacted angrily to claims by Blessing CEO about being at “stage 4” of an illness, widely assumed to be cancer, describing the situation as troubling and insensitive.
In her response, Uriel criticised the lack of clarity surrounding the claim, pointing out that only “stage 4” was mentioned without any proper explanation or confirmation of the illness.
“I CAN’T BELIEVE WE’RE ACTUALLY PLAYING AROUND WITH SOMETHING LIKE CANCER. ALL I SAW WAS ‘STAGE 4.’ NO DEFINITION, NO CLARITY, NOTHING EXPLAINED—JUST THROWN OUT THERE SO LOOSELY. THERE WASN’T EVEN CANCER WRITTEN, JUST STAGE 4.”
She noted that while she sympathises if the situation is real, the issue becomes disturbing if it turns out otherwise.
“AND EVEN WITH THAT, IF THIS IS TRUE, THEN MY HEART GENUINELY GOES OUT TO YOU… BUT IF THIS IS NOT TRUE… THEN THIS IS ACTUALLY DISTURBING.”
Uriel also shared that the matter hits close to home, revealing that her mother is currently battling breast cancer, which makes her reaction more emotional.
“AS SOMEONE WHOSE MOTHER WAS DIAGNOSED WITH BREAST CANCER LAST YEAR, I TAKE THIS PERSONALLY. THIS IS NOT CONTENT. THIS IS REAL LIFE.”
She emphasised that cancer is far too serious to be used carelessly or for attention, stressing its deadly impact worldwide. While she offered support if the diagnosis is genuine, she maintained that making vague or misleading claims about such a condition is unacceptable.
