Nigerian activist Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan, has addressed claims that his online content is diverting young Nigerians from demanding accountability from the government.
Speaking in a video, he acknowledged the accusations and announced a temporary break from social media.
“Because of the allegat!ons and accus@tions that it is my post that have been distracting the Nigerian youths from holding the government accountable.
I have decided not post again on social media this period so that the youth can focus on protest and holding APC government accountable.
l would expect all influencers and celebrities and activists to use this opportunity to take over, they claimed because I have so much engagement so I have been the person distracting our youths with my engaging posts.
I am giving you people from now till the end of the month, make sure you guys achieve something, because I want the progress of Nigeria, I am hereby taking the backstage.
Goodbye for now”
The activist explained that stepping aside would create room for other influencers, celebrities, and campaigners to lead conversations and mobilize citizens toward pushing for change.
