Rapper Blaqbonez has explained why he turned down the chance to join Mavin Records following recent comments made by label boss Don Jazzy about social media engagement.
During an interview, Don Jazzy stated that he prefers signing artistes who are very active online, stressing that constant interaction with fans and visibility on social media have become important parts of succeeding in today’s music industry.
Reacting shortly after, Blaqbonez appeared to throw subtle shade at the statement as he jokingly addressed the issue on his X page in his usual playful manner.
“I Need to get this off my chest before chanel drops, the reason I didn’t sign to mavin when they were begging me with a million dollars is cos i don’t really like posting, I prefer 1 tweet per year than engaging my fans, I’m too big for that, I’m mysterious.”
