Afrobeats stars Wizkid and Ayra Starr were among the standout winners at the 2026 MOBO Awards, which took place in Manchester, United Kingdom, celebrating Black music and culture on a global scale.

Wizkid took home the Best African Music Act award, beating a competitive field that included fellow Nigerian artists Davido, Rema, Shallipopi, Tiwa Savage, and Adekunle Gold.

Ayra Starr also shone brightly, winning the Best International Act category ahead of major global acts like Cardi B, Gunna, and Kehlani.

British-Nigerian entertainer Niko Omilana was another big winner on the night, emerging as Best Media Personality over nominees such as Bemi Orojuogun, popularly known as Bus Aunty, and DJ Remi Burgz.

The Manchester-hosted ceremony marked a significant edition of the MOBO Awards, with several international stars honoured across different categories.

In addition to the winners, a number of celebrities of Nigerian descent were recognised with nominations. German-Nigerian artist Odeal was shortlisted for Best Male Act and Best R&B/Soul Act, while British actors Wunmi Mosaku, Damson Idris, Dayo Koleosho, and Cynthia Erivo were nominated in the Best Performance in a TV Show/Film category.
