Wizkid’s longtime associate, Piper, has publicly sought forgiveness from the Afrobeats superstar, admitting he made mistakes that damaged their friendship.
In an emotional message posted on social media, Piper accepted full responsibility for his actions, saying he had spent time reflecting on the past and felt compelled to apologise to the Grammy-winning singer.
He wrote:
“Dear @wizkidayo
I hope this message finds you well. I’ve been reflecting a lot lately, and I felt it was important to apologize for how I wronged you. I take full responsibility for my actions and the hurt I caused. There’s no excuse for it, and I own all the faults and blame. You were always a great friend to me you were kind, supportive, and genuinely good and I regret not treating our friendship with the same level of care and respect.
This apology comes purely from a place of maturity and self-reflection. I’m not writing to force anything or expect us to go back to how things were. I just felt it was the right thing to do to acknowledge my mistakes and let you know I’m truly sorry.
Thank you for everything you brought into my life during the time we were close. I wish you nothing but the best moving forward.
Take care Otunba. Miss you like krazy. Words can’t even help me express all I feel I pray your Resplendence stays intact forever.”
The heartfelt apology has sparked reactions on social media, with many fans hoping the public message could pave the way for reconciliation. Wizkid has yet to respond publicly.
