A woman has publicly come out in support of singer Peter Okoye amid the latest controversy involving the Okoye family, calling on social media activist VeryDarkMan to give the musician an opportunity to tell his side of the story.
In a video circulating online, the woman claimed she once reached out to Peter for help after allegedly losing $60,000 in a scam while she was pregnant.
According to her account, she was devastated by the alleged loss and contacted Peter in tears, asking him to intervene by reaching out to VeryDarkMan, whom she believed could help address the situation.
She said Peter agreed to contact the social media commentator on her behalf after hearing what had happened.
The woman also claimed that she had evidence and records concerning the alleged scam and planned to share them alongside her video.
However, she alleged that VeryDarkMan did not respond to Peter’s efforts to intervene.
Recounting the incident, she said: “Guys I’m going to attach the video right now, you see that Peter young guy that scammed me, I was the one that called Peter I was pregnant then this is my baby (she show the baby on the video) guys I was pregnant, I called Peter and was crying of how I was scammed $60,000 Peter said okay he’s going to talk to VeryDarkMan I begged him to talk to VeryDarkMan.”
She further recalled what she described as Peter’s previous support for VeryDarkMan when the activist was arrested.
According to her, Peter had publicly called for VeryDarkMan’s release and even appealed to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to free him.
Using that history, she questioned why VeryDarkMan would allegedly refuse to allow Peter to explain himself amid the current controversy.
“Only for VeryDarkMan to ignore Peter. Ah, that guy is wicked. Now Peter was one of the people when they arrested VeryDarkMan that used this platform. Guys, I mean Peter posted on his page for EFCC to free VeryDarkMan,” she said.
“I was the one they sc@mmed, PeterPSquare was trying to reach out to VeryDarkMan because he wanted to help me after I was sc@mmed of $60,000. I begged him to talk to VDM.”
