Inter Miami captain Lionel Messi has reportedly reached an agreement in principle to acquire Spanish second-tier club CD Eldense.
According to reports by Marca, the Argentine superstar is set to purchase 100 per cent of the club’s shares, giving him full ownership of the Segunda Division side.
The proposed takeover is expected to proceed without the involvement of any third party once the necessary due diligence process has been completed.
The deal is currently awaiting formal approval from Spain’s Higher Sports Council (CSD), which is expected to ratify the transaction in the coming days.
The potential acquisition further expands Messi’s growing business interests within Spanish football, as speculation continues over his eventual return to live in Catalonia.
