Former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, was present at the Federal High Court in Kaduna as proceedings begin on his bail application.
The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) had earlier brought him before Justice Rilwan M. Aikawa on a 10-count charge, accusing him of unlawfully converting and holding public assets, alongside allegations of money laundering.
He was produced in court after spending more than a month in custody.
The case had been adjourned to March 31, 2026, for the hearing of outstanding applications, including his request for bail.
Days before the scheduled hearing, on March 27, 2026, the commission granted him temporary release on compassionate grounds following the death of his mother, Hajiya Ummar El-Rufai, in Cairo, Egypt.
