Omoyele Sowore has vowed to fight for the release of entrepreneur Blord, describing his detention as unjust and the charges against him as baseless. Blord, whose real name is Linus Williams, is currently being held at Kuje Correctional Centre over a dispute with social media influencer VeryDarkMan.

In a public interview, Sowore slammed the claims of copyright infringement related to the term “Rattel,” calling them “ridiculous.” He said, “You must be able to present that you have from the World Copyright Organization that you have copyrighted the head of that animal they call Rattel. And I’m sure if you find out, they are not the owner…copyright is different from company registration. If you want to copyright an idea, or you want to patent an idea, it’s a whole different registration. Sometimes it takes years to do it. So, how can you then charge somebody and send them to prison for copyright of something that is out there?”

Sowore also recalled past interventions to secure Blord’s release, saying, “It was this year. I didn’t know who called. We were on the phone frantically. And that DIG had to send a commission of police to go and release him from a police station at the NCC here in Abuja.”

He further highlighted the inconsistency of the legal system, noting that VeryDarkMan himself had previously impersonated police officers and was arrested, yet faced minimal consequences. “There’s no trial that will send Blord to prison, not with what has happened…This is about fairness, justice, and ensuring the system protects citizens rather than punishes them unfairly,” Sowore said.

Sowore’s intervention has drawn national attention, emphasizing his commitment to advocating for Blord’s freedom and calling out what he describes as an abuse of legal power.
