Veteran Nollywood actor Abiodun Ayoyinka, popularly known for his role in Papa Ajasco and Company, has dismissed claims that he received a car and $25,000 following recent public attention on his situation.

The actor became a trending topic after a viral interview with Lucky Udu, where he opened up about his struggles despite years in the industry, prompting widespread reactions and support from the public.

The development also drew comments from the show’s creator, Wale Adenuga, who suggested that Ayoyinka had enjoyed various forms of support during his time on the show, including access to vehicles.

The situation later escalated after Lucky Udu accused the actor of not fully acknowledging his efforts in bringing renewed attention to his story.

Responding in a fresh interview with Daddy Freeze, Ayoyinka clarified that while the interview helped revive his public relevance, the financial support he received came mainly from well-meaning Nigerians.

“After the interview, I appreciated my fans, and I appreciated Lucky Udu. It gave me a new life and a new beginning,” he said.

He revealed that the total donations he received amounted to nearly N6 million, contributed in different sums by supporters.

Ayoyinka, however, firmly denied receiving a car or $25,000, insisting that such reports are untrue.

“I am still trekking and jumping the bus. I did not receive any car; some people came to my house to see the car, and I told them I didn’t see any car,” he said.

He also clarified that although he once owned an old Mercedes 200 during his acting career, he no longer has the vehicle.

According to him, his response is aimed at correcting misinformation and setting the record straight about his current situation.
