President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved new and renewed appointments across several key education agencies in Nigeria, affecting the National Examinations Council (NECO), the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), a federal polytechnic in Plateau State, and the National Library of Nigeria.

In the new leadership changes, Prof. Modupe Adeola Adelabu has been appointed Chairman of the Governing Board of NECO, while Professor Ibrahim Dantani Wushishi will continue in his role as Registrar of the examination body.

At the Federal Polytechnic, N’yak-Shendam in Plateau State, Engr. Dr Bongfa Binfa has been appointed as Rector following the end of the tenure of the pioneer rector. He is expected to serve a single term of five years.

For the NBTE, Professor Babatunde Salako has been named Chairman of the Governing Board. At the same time, Professor Idris M. Bugaje has had his appointment as Executive Secretary renewed for another and final five-year term.

In the National Library of Nigeria, Prof. Chinwe Veronica Anunobi has also been reappointed as Director General and Chief Executive Officer for a final five-year tenure, having first assumed office in 2021.

The appointees are seasoned academics and administrators with strong backgrounds in education, research, and institutional management.
