Banky W has opened up about how his relationship with his wife, Adesua Etomi, began, sharing a humorous and heartfelt account of their early love journey.
Speaking on a podcast where Adesua was also present, the singer recalled that their relationship started off as friendship before gradually developing into romance after a long period of uncertainty on his side.
According to him, Adesua initially kept him at a distance, which made him step back and rely on prayer rather than continue pursuing her aggressively.
“Adesua was actually the one who asked me to be her husband. She kept me in the friend zone for a long time, so I stopped pushing and simply prayed to God to touch her heart. After a year and a few months, she finally called me ‘my husband’—and that’s it.”
His comments, delivered in a playful tone, drew attention to how their relationship evolved naturally over time, eventually leading to marriage after patience and emotional persistence from both sides.
