President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is scheduled to leave Abuja on Saturday, May 2, for a three-nation working visit that will take him to France, Kenya, and Rwanda.

The trip was announced on Friday in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

According to the statement, the President will begin his engagements in France before heading to Nairobi, Kenya, where he will participate in the Africa-France Summit holding next week.

The summit, co-chaired by French President Emmanuel Macron and Kenyan President William Ruto, is expected to focus on major global and continental issues including energy transition, green industrialisation, digital transformation, climate action, and reforms of the international financial system.

Tinubu’s participation, scheduled for May 11 to May 12, is aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s diplomatic and economic ties with France and other African countries, while also advancing cooperation on shared development priorities.

The summit, themed “Africa Forward: Africa-France Partnerships for Innovation and Growth,” will bring together African leaders and French officials to discuss economic growth, infrastructure development, youth empowerment, technological innovation, climate resilience, and peace-building initiatives.

After the Kenya engagement, Tinubu will travel to Kigali, Rwanda, where he is expected to attend the Africa CEO Forum scheduled for May 14 to May 15.
