Veteran Nollywood actress Bukky Wright has opened up about the painful reason she ventured into the movie industry, revealing that becoming famous was never part of her original dream.
The actress disclosed that she joined Nollywood after being separated from her children following her early marriage into a wealthy family.
“I never thought I could become a star in this movie industry, my main mission of coming into this industry was just for my children to locate me in the future.”
According to her, losing access to her children left her heartbroken and afraid she might never see them again. She said the fear pushed her into acting, hoping that fame and public recognition would one day help her children find her.
“So I got married early into a wealthy family and they took my children away from me. When I couldn’t have access to my children and I knew I might not see them again, I came into this movie industry with the hope that someday my children would locate me by my name.”
Bukky Wright, however, expressed gratitude that things eventually turned around in her favour, as she reunited with her children and also achieved success in the entertainment industry.
“Today I thank God because I have reunited with them and I am now a star. I can’t forget the impact of this movie industry in my life.”
Her emotional revelation has since touched many fans, who praised her resilience, strength and determination despite the painful experiences she endured.
