Bosnia and Herzegovina earned a valuable point after playing out a 1-1 draw with co-hosts Canada in their opening Group B match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Toronto.

Bosnia took the lead in the 21st minute through Jovo Lukić, who finished off a well-worked move to silence the home crowd early in the game.

Canada responded strongly and dominated large spells of possession, but were repeatedly frustrated by Bosnia’s disciplined defensive structure. One of the standout moments came from Sead Kolašinac, who produced a crucial goal-line clearance to keep his side ahead.

The pressure eventually paid off for the hosts, as Southampton striker Cyle Larin netted the equaliser in the 77th minute to bring Canada level.

Both sides pushed for a winner in the closing stages, but neither could find the breakthrough, forcing the match to end in a draw.

With the result, Bosnia and Canada share a point each in Group B as they turn attention to their next fixtures, while Switzerland and Qatar are set to meet in the group’s other encounter.
